Girls are doing cool stuff!! @ Agnes Irwin School
Today, the STEM Scientista executives, Mrs. McCafferty, and Mrs. Boardman met with the leaders of Agnes Irwin's STEM Club. We had a great morning talking and collaborating about our two clubs.
The girls, Sophie, Hunter, and Anisha, told us all about their STEM club. Theirs is the only one at their all-girls school! Surprising, right?
They started ths club in their sophomore year of high school, with hopes of teaching kids more about science and technology. Instead of having lectures, like in class, they organize hands-on activities so that kids can be exposed to the amazing things that science can do. Sometimes, they even bring in speakers to talk to the girls about different STEM fields.
Their club has grown in size - 50 girls signed up this year!
Scientistas looks to collaborate and talk with them throughout the year, to bounce ideas off each other and hopefully create some amazing lessons for kids.
We are so grateful the girls took time out of their day to come meet with us, and are so excited to put our ideas into motion!
